Student Enrollment Procedure
- The academic year of every year will commence in January/July.
- Particulars of courses and Technical Colleges which conduct those courses will publish by the Government Gazette Notification in October/November of every year.
- All details regarding this application process are available on the website www.dtet.gov.lk, where you can also submit your application through either www.dtet.gov.lk or mis.dtet.gov.lk. Please submit applications online whenever possible.
If you are unable to submit online, please follow these instructions:
Prepare an application on an A4 sheet following the “Specimen Application Form” in the gazette. Send your completed application in a Registered Cover to the Director, College of Technology or hand it over to the college’s Career Guidance Unit.
Please be kind enough to send the applications for the NVQ 5/6 courses only through online
- Should send separate applications for each course applied for considering the preference.
- Applicant will be selected on the results of the aptitude test and/or an interview.

Course fees:
No course fees will be charged for full-time courses. But fees will be charged as follows from the students who follow the part-time courses.
- Rs. 25,000/- per semester for the Diploma courses. (No charges for foundation programs)
- Rs. 30,000/- for courses with a one-year study period.
- Rs. 20,000/- for courses with a six-month study period.
- Rs. 15,000/- for courses with a study period of less than six months.
Registration Fees:
Registration fee will be charged as follows
- Rs. 1,500/- for registration in NVQ Level 3/4 courses.
- Rs. 2,500/- for registration in NVQ Level 5/6 courses and language sector courses.
